Annual Photo Contest Now Open!
Grab your camera, remove those lens caps, adjust your apertures, and set your shutter speed for action — the CWF’s Reflections of Nature Annual Photo Contest has officially begun!
Photographs have the power to educate, inspire and tell a story! This year’s contest runs from July 1 to September 30. We can't wait to see the incredible shots you'll capture!

Winning photos will be selected in five categories:
Connecting with Nature
We want to see Canadians of all ages enjoying nature through exploration, relaxation, adventure, family and sport. Show us how you immerse yourself and connect with nature. Examples: photo of child on a hike, friends in a canoe, swimming in your lake or schools doing a habitat clean-up.
Canadian Landscapes
Show us Canada’s vast and beautiful wilderness through the eye of the beholder. Examples: mountains, sunsets, skyline, waterfalls or open natural spaces.
Focus on Fauna
Capture wildlife in Canada, from the smallest of creatures to the largest of mammals. Example: any species of Canadian wildlife, terrestrial or marine.
Finding Flora
Explore and capture the beauty of Canada’s native flora of all shapes, sizes and colours. Examples: water drop on a leaf, flower in bloom or a tree in the heart of winter.
Urban Interaction
Dedicated to the intersection of Nature and Canadians within our cities and urban spaces. Show us your favourite greenspace, your urban oasis, or a surprising encounter with beautiful wildlife in an urban setting. Examples: An owl perched on a fence, squirrel eating nuts on the bench, or a racoon taking a much-needed nap on the back deck!

The contest is open from 12:00 a.m. E.S.T. on July 1, and ends at 11:59 p.m. E.S.T. on September 30. The winners will be notified by 5:00 p.m. on October 31.
Aim your camera lens at great prizes!
Enter the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s Reflections of Nature photography contest, proudly sponsored by Canadian Wildlife — and Pikto, a Canadian photo printing and framing company. Enter your photos in any of our five categories to qualify.
The Grand Prize includes a $500 VISA gift card, a $500 Pikto gift certificate, a one-year subscription to Canadian Wildlife or Biosphère magazine, and a photography kit featuring a GoPro Hero10 Black and related accessories. The winning photo will be published in the January/February issue of the magazine.
The Grand Prize Runner-Up will receive a $200 VISA gift card, a $150 Pikto gift certificate and a magazine subscription.
Category winners will each receive a $200 VISA gift card, a $125 Pikto gift certificate and a magazine subscription. The winning photo will be published in the January/February issue of the magazine.
Category runner-up winners will receive a $100 VISA gift card.
