CWF
We would like to extend our heartfelt thoughts to those directly impacted by the nCovid-19 virus.
Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) remains open online and on the phone to help with questions you have or services you need from CWF. That said, to help reduce the spread of nCovid-19 our staff is now working remotely to keep our services available and vital conservation work being delivered.
For our valued donors and supporters, your gifts to help support our wildlife conservation and education programs are still very much needed and appreciated during this time.
While Canadians across the country are wisely limiting their interaction with other people, when you need a break from being indoors, there are many ways to get your fix of nature.
Here are a few ideas we hope that nature can provide some nurture in these difficult times:
- If you can get out and about, go for a walk in a park or local nature trail (however please practice appropriate social distancing)
- Take a camera to photograph the local wildlife
- If you are more isolated, open a window to let in fresh air
- Build a bird feeder or bird house
- Send an e-card. These virtual greetings can tell your friends and family you are thinking of them
- Post your wildlife photos to iNaturalist.ca to add to the growing database of biodiversity or spend some time looking through the two million observations that have already been shared, scientifically reviewed and catalogued.
- Send your favourite wildlife photo to our Monthly Photo Contest
- Prepare for the upcoming growing season.. Start bedding plants and get your gardening tools and materials ready.
- E-mail us at cwfeducation@cwf-fcf.org for information on how to make your garden attractive to wildlife.
- Set up a bird feeder outside where you can see it easily from a window
- Subscribe to one of CWF’s magazines or e-newsletters for updates, photos and articles on wildlife, conservation projects and issues in Canada
- Catch up on our blogs
- Check out our Hinterland Who’s Who website for videos, on-line games and more interesting wildlife resources
We hope that you, your family and friends, stay healthy and well.
