HALIFAX, N.S. July 25, 2022 –  Media are invited to a behind the scenes tour of the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s (CWF) CanFish warehouse for special announcements and updates about the new gear lending program. Download the agenda >

WHEN:

9:30-10:30 am AST Thursday, July 28, 2022

WHERE:

110 Chain Lake Dr. Halifax, N.S.  

WHAT:

Tour the gear library, which houses more than 70 units of six different ropeless fishing devices, five types of low breaking strength gear modifications for buoylines and provides training to commercial fish harvesters in use of the gear.

WHY:

Find out how our new program is reducing the risk to entangle large whales by allowing harvesters to test out new fishing methods.
