Evolugen
The Canadian Wildlife Federation is thrilled to be working in partnership with Evolugen by Brookfield Renewable (Evolugen.com), a leader in the clean energy transition. Together we are addressing one of the planet’s most significant environmental concerns: the loss of pollinator habitat.
For Evolugen, sustainably means managing actions to achieve positive environmental outcomes. One of the main components of CWF’s Pollinator Program involves the management of rights-of-way (roads, transmission lines, solar sites) to benefit pollinators. These rights-of-way (ROW) sites are a natural fit for pollinator habitat as they need to be maintained with low growing plants (such as grasses and wildflowers) for safety and functionality. Restored meadows on ROW provide many food, resting and breeding opportunities for pollinators.
Evolugen’s support is helping to restore this meadow habitat in Canada (including at their own facilities!) Their leadership in this space will certainly make a significant difference for pollinators. We hope it will also help to ignite a spirit of conservation among Canadians from coast to coast, as we shine a light on the importance of restoring these critical spaces.
We are delighted to have embarked on this unique partnership with Evolugen. We look forward to building something very special and sustainable, together.
